OK, it lacks a little something alliterative, I’ll give you that. But I haven’t gotten around to blogging some more recent projects.
I started the socks last week, but as I was knitting I discovered that my new office gets intermittently cold, and decided I desperately needed some arm warmers, and put the second sock on pause. The arm warmers took about two days to finish — and then, of course, when I got into the office I discovered that they were a bit too high and restricted my fingers, so I had to rip back and re-do the bind off. (I also realized halfway through the second one that I forgot to mirror the cable, but I was too lazy to start over. They still keep my wrists warm.)
The awesome rainbow yarn I’m using for the socks is 7 Veljestä (which apparently means “seven brothers”) from the Finnish brand Novita. I kind of want to buy more and make something big and bright — or maybe even a pair of knee-highs. Can’t you just see those stripes blaring between some big black boots and a black skirt?
