Pointy hats and red shawls
Here’s an action shot of my new hat — I kind of love the pointy bit, because I tend to wear my hair in a messy bun and it just sort of slots right on top. Also, it makes everyone who sees me smile.
I made it in Little Red Bicycle’s merino worsted; the colorway is Dragonfly and I want about five or ten skeins more. Love the play of the colors, and of course I’m a sucker for all shades of turquoise. It was a top-down experiment because I wanted to use as much as possible of the skein, so I just cast on a few stitches and then increased half-randomly.
I’m also working on a Book River Shawl — the pattern is called Green River, and it’s my reward to myself for finishing the first draft of my book.
It’s Wollmeise in Strohblume and I kind of love it. The subtle shifts of red and orange make it look sort of like fire.

Love the shawl. It’s going to look beautiful blocked out.
I hope so!
Cute hat! I like the colour / colours of that shawl.
Both are beautiful; also Hubby is very jealous of all your snow!
We can totally share.
